Hi, I’m Jeff!
I'm a father, a husband, and I've worn many other hats over the course of my life. I love to make things, I make food, I make designs and products out of metals, plastics, and wood, and I really enjoy making fine goods out of high quality leather. What started as a hobby has become enough to share with the world which is what Breze is, my outlet for fine goods and accessories incorporating the things I love.
I've had an interest in leather work for over a decade, finally being able to dive into it as a stress relieving hobby several years ago. I've enjoyed making everything from Renaissance Fair garb to Bags, Notebook Covers, Knife Sheaths, even a Belt or two! I've incorporated some of my experience as a CNC Machinist in not only making a number of my own tools for doing the work, but I've also started dabbling in accessories and other affectations for the leather pieces that I enjoy incorporating when I can!
The Materials I use
I choose leathers tanned in many styles from all over the world at the highest quality.
Vegetable Tanned Leathers
These leathers are tanned in one of the oldest methods, using tannins harvested from a variety of vegetation based sources in order to preserve the leather and give it such a supple, rich feel we know so well. Vegetable tanned leather is unique in that while over time it will not decay, but rather show its age through wear and patina, changing its appearance with its life experience!
Chrome/Combination Tanned Leathers
Leathers tanned using the chrome tanning process, or a combination of chrome tanning with vegetable and/or oil tanning, can create very unique textures and colors to meet a lot of versatile applications. Many exotics can be chrome tanned with different effects to produce unique looks, many more pliable and supple leathers are often chrome or combination tanned. The quality of these can be every bit as good as the best vegetable tanned skins money can buy, and like their counterparts, can be found in designer luxury goods all over the world.
Exotics
When I do choose to feature an exotic skin in a project, I only choose those which have been harvested under ethical and conservational means as well as adhering to the strict legal codes from where they are harvested from and distributed to.
